"He left her for another woman" Hearsay at best. Might be a complete lie from your friend. Maybe he left her because she is a nagging/controlling/manipulative/impossible to please/simply figured out they were not compatible...WE Don't know. But then, why would he want her back?

I am sure there are people who are simply too self centered to be reached, in fact I have had my own experiences with demanding people who only take take take, especially emotionally. Not much we can do with them.
Sorry it took you so many years to get free of that burden. it took me 7, and then it has been 7 more years of hassle over the kids.
As far as me being romantic, it depends, just like anyone else I pretty much am as romantic as the rewards benefit allow. ... more

Missy, no, I am not a misogynist, I am just reminding that there are always two versions of events, and we would do well to keep that in mind just to keep things in perspective. The human brain has a tendency to blow things out of proportion, and even more so when sympathetic ears are abundant. Lest an of us do became what we despise. Even if only for a moment or two.
