I can SO relate to this thread. My last boyfriend, who happened around July of last year, decided that he would dump me via Facebook. We had gone on a couple dates, and then he told me he wanted to get to know me better, but when the dates to hang out approached, he'd always make excuses. I can relate as well. I seem to have this bad habit of overanalyzing a situation I'm in, especially if it's with someone I'm into, whereas I just sit back and relax if I'm not into the person. Funny how reverse psychology works, huh?
Julie offers some good advice, but I would like to add don't wait around for him to return contact, even if you don't contact him for a while. Go out for coffee, go shopping, do something fun you like to do that keeps your mind off him. That way he's left... more

The ex was pretty happy for me. (Surprisingly, as he didn't talk to me for almost 2 months after I decided to break up with him.) He said that all that mattered was that I was happy.
