This may be your reference point, in dealing with emotional break-ups.  If this man is not giving you what you want, move on.  Even if he cracks under the no contact pressure, and gives you the commitment that you want, it will not last.  He will eventually go back to being himself.

I agree with Karla,  Going through a break-up maded the next one a little easier. I'm not talking about a puppy love break-up.  I mean the kind that made you loss 30 pounds.  Once you get over what you consider rock bottom,  knowing that " This too shall pass" helps you look more toward the future and stop looking back. I will probably be ending a 20 month relationship in about 3 days.   I am upset, but not because I didn't see why the relationship didn't...  more

Well ladies, and Gent, my relationship of 18 months is over. Through my eyes everything was great. We like the same things, we talked on the phone everyday,conversation was great sex was great. So you ask what went wrong? He is a widower, he was married for over 22 years. His wife passed 5 years ago. We were at a point in our relationship were we need to meet the family. His children, both adults and married, did not know he was back to dating. He believes that they will be very upset if they found out. more
