Yep...you could have a point there. He always made the plans....and has said to me quite clearly, 'just send me dates....' as because of work commitments (he works funny shifts), I usually go to him. When we're toegther, his friends are always saying stuff like, 'When you're next over...we'll...' and he always agrees....so I think he's left the ball in my court. As basically, it's me who has to do the travel.....which I really don't... more

I know!!! That's it exactly! Though I suppose if things get a little over-balanced from time to time, it can't hurt to lean back on DWD just a little....:)

This is one of the saddest stories I've read in a very long time! :(

And I couldn't help but think why she felt the need to 'surprise' him, like this, especially when he clearly didn't want anything to do with her.

Very sad stuff!

Question for discussion really....but at what point in a relationship, do you use less of the DWD 'rules'? For example, we've been together for nearly a year in a LDR and up until 3 months ago, he always forward planned for our next opportunity to meet. At month 9, he didn't say anything at the end of our weekend together, so I just said casually 'Oh, we haven't planned our next meet-up....' He was immediate with 'Oh yes, defo, ok well I'm free most weekends...so just text me some dates when you've checked out flights'. So the next day I did and we s more
