Declaration of Love

When a man says "I'm falling for you" (and says it with sincerity in his voice), is that the same as saying "I love you"?

It feels like it is.

My man said it to me the other night when we were chatting on the phone, and we haven't slept together yet. (We've been getting to know each other gradually). He is very romantic, and it feels great...

Sorry to say...."I'm falling for you" DOES NOT mean that he loves you. I don't care how sincere he said it. Don't read into his words. Take it one day at a time.

Thanks ladies - I bow to your superior knowledge!

So what does "I'm falling for you" mean then?

It usually means something along the lines of 'I have feelings for you and want to express them but am not ready to say "I love you" (yet)'.

I think also he might love you but not be possitive if he is in love yet. my guy first told me he loved me but didnt know which form of love yet and as our relationship grew he realized he was deeply in love he said.

My boyf told me he was "falling for me" and I asked "Is falling for me the same as falling in love with me?" to which he replied, "No, falling in love is more full on/a bigger deal" (or words to that effect).
