Grew up in the burbs of Chicago.
I like that movie too.
I like what you are wearing.
I'm running out of things to say.
Where are my friends?
Why is this so hard?

That’s me, every weekend.  I broke up with my long term girlfriend a few months ago and am getting used to the dating scene all over again.  But it’s all so strange; I am looking through the eyes of a different guy. Though I never found women as options, dating in my twenties didn’t require much thought.  Actually, if you told me back then that dating would eventually be such an exhausting task, I would have called you crazy.

I am very flattered to be chosen to blog for you all.  I have a very distinct point of view and though never judgmental, my observations are my way of making sense of the world.  I also plan on being true to myself while writing for an audience of women.  While usually appropriate, my thoughts can sometimes be blunt and off-color.  I have to ask you to understand that about me before you become discouraged from my writing.  I write from my gut and make no apologizes about it, but I hope it comes across as honesty and not something negative.

That being said, I am really looking forward to this! I find writing very therapeutic, so documenting my experiences will keep me sane and hopefully provide you all with some entertainment and insight into my thoughts.  As I hit the reset button and start this wonderful, scary, relevatory time in my life, I am glad I have some people to share it with.  After a night of 'defining' myself for women, I can come home, breathe normally, and let it all out here.

Welcome and it's nice to meet you. :)

Coast is clear 'no ostriches here ' ;P

Welcome Rob.

Don't like any beer (though I fell in love with Bullmer's Cider in Ireland)

Sarcasm...really?

Ostriches ARE scary and you'd be a fool to befriend one.

I'll pass on the cereal and have an omelet (with mushrooms and ham and provo cheese...unless you can make a meatball omelet in which case, well, never mind0

and etc.....

Hi Rob! Glad you could make it...even without your friends! ;) We've been kind of rough on the very few men that are left here.

Hi Rob,

Welcome and I'm glad we'll be to come to you. I still love my bowl of Cherios Yogurt Bursts. Sounds healthy, but really is just a nice sweet bowl of cereal I too still enjoy. Its the simple and little joys in life that matter.

Hello there Rob...

I read in a previous blog to find out where they've come from and who they are before writing someone off. Great advice due to the following blog - "fear of Ostriches". ??? It definitely makes one curious.:)
By the way...Peanut Butter Captain Crunch ROCKS!
I look forward to reading more.

Sounds like you are a tad bit bored. Guess it's exhausting dealing with insecure/ desperate women pretending you are having a great time. I was one of them... and regretted dragging the poor guys down with my misery.

but it's ok. just one stage of our lives. Have a quick listen to Jarvis Cocker's 'I never said i was deep'. it'll make you laugh.

Hi Rob,

What an encourager you are. It is so nice to hear that you enjoy and appreciate the extra effort it takes to look our best. It is fun to do so, but knowing someone appreciates it and enjoys it is really great! Thanks
